It’s funny how God can do BIG things if we just let Him. I’m the poster child for letting God work through one’s life- that is if we’re willing to buckle our seatbelts and accept change with open arms.

I worked at Camp Oak Hill as a counselor in 2010. I vividly remember saying that it’s “the hardest fun I’ve ever had”. I would always see Ms. Kim on opening and closing days and think, “Hmm, I want her job; she does everything I like. She gets to help campers, enjoy camp, but not have to do all the ‘dirty work’.” I told people she essentially had my dream job.  I closed up the summer of 2010 in my mind and reflected on the wonderful opportunity I had to share Christ’s love with kids that summer as I entered into my senior year at Meredith.

I graduated college in 2011 and shortly thereafter got a job as a Legal Assistant in Raleigh.

When I graduated college, I didn’t know what I “wanted to be when I grew up”. I just know I wanted to serve God and serve others well. The thought of the dream job at Camp Oak Hill was just a figment of imagination.

Until… April 2012. I got a call from Tom Dixon that COH had an opening for a Business Manager. This was just weeks before mine and Zack’s wedding and his graduation. We had A LOT going on to say the least and I was NOT in support of one more area of my life that was apt to change! After a lot of prayer and thought, I took the leap of faith and applied for the job.

My prayer on April 3, 2012 for discernment with the job.

I accepted the position of Business Manager just days before our wedding and started full time on May 21, 2012 (the day after we returned from our honeymoon)! A year and a half later and I still love being at COH every day; what a blessing it is to work somewhere where Making Christ Known is the cornerstone of my job
